Groundbreaking ceremony - Saturday, October 16, 2010
We like to share with you our happiness and thanks to the Masjid
Groundbreaking ceremony for the First Masjid in Alaska.
This event took place on Saturday, October 16, 2010 while Br. Nihad Awad the President of CAIR was with us.
Brothers and sisters we started this job together and we need inshallah to finish it
together .Thanks again for your support.

"By no means shall you attain Al-Birr (righteousness, piety) unless you give
(freely, in Allah's cause) of that which you love: and whatever of good you
spend, Allah knows it well." (3:92)
The Messenger of Allah (saw) said: "He who builds a Masjid for Allah (swt), as
big as a bird's nest or smaller, Allah (swt) will build for him a house in
Paradise ."
Please sponsor as much footage as possible for yourself or on behalf of your
parents, loved ones, or friends. Building a Masjid is a continuous charity.
Alhamdulilah, with the Help of Allah (SWT), the All-Mighty, we your brothers
and sisters in Anchorage, Alaska are happy to announce that we have begun a new
phase of our Masjid building project by purchasing a 70,000 sq ft lot on the
Old Seward Highway and 80th Street in Anchorage. This important step in our
efforts to build the first Masjid in Alaska, which took us many years and was
made possible by generous contributions from within our community and by help
of many brothers and sisters from other Islamic communities, Jazak Allahu
Khairan. The purchase price of $600,000 to buy the land was paid in full. The
land has a beautiful mountain view and will make a wonderful location for our
future Masjid! The city zoning of the lot has no restrictions that would
preclude the establishment of a religious building on it, community center and
school.
Currently we are working to develop the plans. Hopefully by the end of this year
we should have initial engineering completed. We plan to develop the conceptual
into a 3D model for easier visualization and better understanding of our plans.
We kindly request you to continue to give in the name of Allah, so that we can
commence building His house as soon as possible, inshallah.
The Messenger of Allah, Muhammad - Sal Allaahu Alayhi wa Sallam - said:
"Whoever builds a Masjid, seeking the pleasure of ALLAH, ALLAH shall build a
house for him in Paradise ." [Bukhari].
May ALLAH (SWT) reward you for your good deeds and bless you in this life and
hereafter, where nothing will count except what you have prepared for that day.
